She couldn't stop raving about how courteous the men were; when her car was stuck in the driveway, the guys noticed and came over to dig her out. Janet, I just wanted to let you know that I think that Acres has done a fantastic job of snow removal/cleanup following the monster storm we experienced. They were here from early yesterday until late evening and were back on site early this morning and have been here all day. They should be complimented for their efforts. Mike, I think the snow removal crew did an outstanding job. They had us completely clear by about 4:00PM. Which I bet was unheard of in all of the townhouse groups in Carpentersville/Dundees and elsewhere. By the way, probably nothing that can be done about it now, but would you report it to the appropriate group - our gutter on the north side appears to be too heavy with snow ice and seems to be pulling away from the wall/roof. Again, probably nothing can be done until everything has melted. Please pass our comments on the snow removal to the appropriate group.

Ends of driveways (watch out for those mail boxes), intersections Carrington/Wessex, Chesire/Wessex, Winton/Wessex and Exeter/Wessex only. NO SPECIAL REQUESTS...NO "GET THAT SNOW OFF MY LAWN". This relocation is for SAFETY, not curb appeal. We have had a 22" Blizzard, and we must think of people entering/exiting their driveways, and getting out into the intersections...safely. Hi Jackie, I know that you are not here today to see it, but I wanted to tell you what a FANTASTIC job Acres is doing with our snow removal!!! Our driveway & walk to our front door has been cleared since we awoke at 7 AM and is actually MELTED from the warm sun. The streets in front of our home have also been cleared all day and in places are melted. We have seen plows outside virtually throughout the day, and have seen trucks from Acres transporting men, probably to the Lodge for a warm-up, all day long. Compared to the messes and problems we have watched on the TV throughout the day, we are EXTREMELY FORTUNATE to have Acres doing our streets. All of the men are to be commended for the hard work they have performed for our safety and benefit!

Joan: First my heart goes out to these men who had to work SO HARD the last 48 hours cleaning up our community. When I saw them out there Tuesday night it broke my heart to think they are there doing a job for us in those condition WHY! Paul and I were planning on taking up Hot Chocolate/Muffins to the club house for them, when Fran/Nick F (who walked around the community with Hot Chocolate to give the guys) told us that they were not going into the club house. So Paul and I decided to drive around and hand all the guys the muffins in person the smiles and thanks you warmed your heart. As we did this we saw few people inviting the guys into their home. Hats off to those people who open there hearts and doors for these men who did a job that wasn't fit for any human being. Thank you Acres for doing a great job that was almost impossible Thank Acres for a great job my heart goes out to all the men who had to be out there.

Jackie, I don't know how the other residents feel about Acres performance during this week's snowstorm, but I for one feel that they did an EXCELLENT job under unbelievably difficult conditions. I saw their trucks working on Lincoln Circle even with the 50 mph wind gusts going on around them. I think their prompt action kept things from getting even worse as the storm lasted throughout the evening. And in the morning, I was pleasantly surprised to see the streets practically clear, and was amazed when I saw my sidewalk and driveway were also cleared. Bottom line, I'm sure there were glitches and there will be complaints. And I'm sure some of them will be justified. But there is at least one very, very satisfied Shorewood Glen resident. Please pass this on to the appropriate parties at Acres for me. Thanks.

Those guys were out there all night and in the morning yesterday and did a beautiful job. Our section and driveways and sidewalks look fantastic. Alison, Last night was a harrowing night for everyone who lives in the Chicagoland area. It was a once in a decade storm and we will be talking about it for years. There are residents in our neighborhood that have been upset with the plow companie(s) in the past (including myself). However, today I want to compliment them for their efforts. I know that their company helped extract multiple cars of residents (including my wife) from the snow to try and allow them to get to their homes. They were put in a difficult situation, as we all were, and did the best they could under the circumstances. And in many cases went above and beyond. The sidewalks and stairs were cleared as much as possible and were reasonably clear by the time we took our dog out this morning. The amount of drifting made permanent clearing very difficult. And by 4:00pm today, our driveway was clear. I saw in one instance that they saw someone shoveling out their driveway and zoomed over to help so they wouldn't have to. They had an impossible amount of work to do and handled it the best that could be expected. The vast majority of driveways were blocked with feet of snow and that takes a lot of time to clear. Someone has to be first, and someone has to be last. That is just the way it is. So, when you inevitably get some complaints, and you probably already have, just know that there is one household that commends them (and Foster Premier) in this instance. I hope people are reasonable about this situation and see it for what it was ... a blizzard. Thank you to the plow company for their hard work, as well as the coordinating effort that yourself and your company did as well.

My snow angels came to the rescue around 4:00pm. They hand shoveled, because of the bricks, and cleared the porch, driveway and front walk in about an hour. They even swept the porch with a broom and put down ice melt. Peace of mind and safety...priceless; thank you Cathy Snyder and Acres Group Landscaping!

I would like to take a moment and tell you that I thought your guys and yourself and your Co. did a great job for what you were up against. Hi Denny: Good morning, I could hear your guys all nite working must have been here 2-3 times. Emergency purposes I 'm sure people can get out except to the big roads that are swamped. Take this as it is or from who it is that your guys [& women?} should be commended for just going out in that bitter windy cold and doing what they've done against impossible odds. From ME: Good job!!! Now; if we could get to it ,it would be great to get breakfast EH?? I'm sure just some rest and warmth will be the thing to be doing.

My hat's off to Acres. Once again they did a great job, especially considering what they were working with and against. They even dug around a few cars by my unit. They may not always meet our expectations with landscaping, but they far exceed expectations with snow removal.

Hi everyone, I have been on the phone with John from Acres 3 times today and just finished driving around, He has given me updates of progress. The way it has been going his crew has been onsite for almost 24 hours straight trying to clear the main roads and as much of the driveways as possible when possible. (I had to dig my truck out this morning) They will be leaving soon and returning tomorrow which means if you can't get out your front door today, maybe you will tomorrow. (even they need sleep and warmth) They are (all this considered) doing a great job (Even the cities are having trouble recovering from this snow fall today) Just a reminder if you have a vehicle outside your garage they will not be able to clean it as well ( And No they don't dig out your cars) Also I have given John the approval to relocate any snow that he feels is a safety issue (Meaning obstructed view) Down to and including piling it in the guest parking spaces if need be, especially if that is cheaper than trucking it off premises. After all it is only snow and will MELT

John, You are definitely a miracle-worker. Here at Forest Glen we have absolutely no where to push this white stuff and yet you managed to clear our streets in record time. Then, much to my surprise, the driveways were magically cleared. You can imagine my surprise and delight when I opened my front door last night and there was a narrow but definite walkway where I could get out. Crazy me, went out to Walmart on Dundee at about 7-ishh last night and it was a white out conditions... Right now the snow is so high that I had to climb mountains to get to the office. Please tell Acres how much we appreciated them plowing and shoveling out our driveway in early morning. And they did not bury the newspapers, but instead brought them up to the steps. Hello Riley, Just a quick note to say thank you for the excellent follow up at the Valleys of Amber Grove HOA in Bartlett on Wednesday. I drove through the neighborhood prior to the board meeting and was thrilled to see the driveways and private walks cleared of the snow and ice. As I mentioned to you, the board president is very difficult to please with most snow removal events. At the board meeting, the board president made special mention of the excellent follow up that the Acres Group did to clear the ice and snow from this most recent snow / ice /rain event. You made my night a lot less stressful and the board is very happy with the results. Again, thank you very much!

Dear Muriel, I just wanted to send my sincerest thanks and appreciation for all the work that you and the fine men that work here at Ancient Tree have done for me and for the entire association. I have lived in condo associations before and have never experienced the professionalism, hard and competent workmanship and courtesy of the Acres Group staff. My garden that they worked so hard in creating is a constant joy to me (even when it is now covered in snow!) and the security that I feel when my drive and walkway are shoveled so completely, quickly and safely each snowfall has been a continual source of gratitude and comfort. I sent a little something in a separate envelope for each of the men who have worked so diligently - please see that they divide it up - not much but a small token of appreciation. Hey, I've been meaning to send this for a while and am not sure who to send it to. I work with 2 Acres account Rep's during snow removal season, and thought someone should note that Susi has always done a really good job at emailing us weather updates and addressing specific concerns for the individual site. Aside from the storm updates that I receive from Sherm, Susi usually sends an additional and more specific update for managers in her region. That is really helpful and is something that other contractors do not do for me, unless I call and ask specifically. I am sure I drive her crazy sometimes because that is a somewhat difficult property, but she has always been patient and gotten answers for me in a timely fashion. I'm sure compliments are few and far between in the winter because we get so wrapped up in the snow/ice chaos, so I wanted to send this while I am thinking of it!

In light of the negative complaints from one home owner, I believe we are ahead of the curve on complaints over all regarding snow removal. I for one am very happy with the results we have seen out of Acres. The crew that works at our end has been the same one each time and has been efficient, polite & hardworking. I have taken time to speak to them each time and assure them I am happy with the end result. I also bribe them with snacks, & bottled water!! You can't please everyone all the time!! :) Thanks

Dear Ms. Walsh: I live in the condominiums at Bridgeview Place. I would like to praise the snow removal team for a "job well done" this past week. I was particularly impressed after the snow on Saturday. Sunday I awoke to shoveled and salted sidewalks leading up to my front door. The driveways and streets were well plowed as well as the sidewalks throughout the complex. Once again, "cudo's" to the snow removal workers that made the complex a safe place to walk and drive.

A note to say that as my cursory observation this morning, the snow removal people did a WONDERFUL job. This time they cleared an opening on THE STREET SIDE so a vehicle could have access, they shoveled out the fire hydrant areas for visibility and access should it be needed and the walkways are in good shape. I don't believe they could do any better with the drives and streets than they did. KUDOS to them! Just my opinion....

Dear Sherm, I just want to share with you how thrilled Frenchmen’s Cove is with Kevin and Acres. I have gotten numerous compliments from both Board members and homeowners about the snow removal thus far – even though this has been a terrible winter. Yesterday, I received a phone call from the Board treasurer, who is also the snow contact for Frenchmen’s, praising Acres and Kevin. He stated that in his experience with snow removal vendors (which is considerable, he has lived there a long time) Acres is the best they have ever had!!! Thank you.

Jim, I believe that these guys have being doing a great job. We have been here 10 yrs. and in the past, others have damaged our concrete driveways, downspouts and other negligent work. As I mentioned to Janice, it would be nice for some of the residents to recognize this effort. This has been a very difficult challenge to these guys this winter. Sherm, It appears that Mother Nature would like to remind us what Chicago is all about this season. As us "old timers" know, no one has anything nice to say about snow removal, you either didn't get there in time or you were too early and woke them up. My Board President and I spoke Sunday, the 10th of January, and he was very impressed and very pleased with the clean up your guys did over the past weekend. As you know, I feel it is important that you guys hear the good because people do not typically take the time to say "thank you" anymore. Hi Cathy: While I do not speak for the board, I would like to personally acknowledge the good work you snow removal crews are conducting here at Castleford-Hearthstone. Considering the size (478 units) of the property, your crews have certainly exceeded my expectations and those of many homeowners. The time and effort put into detailing sidewalks and walkways is appreciated. It also appears to me that there is less damage to lawns. Maybe we shaved them enough last winter. I am also very unhappy about what happened last weekend with the automobile blocking your equipment. I can assure you I intend on making sure the board has this incident on their radar.
