The River Birch (Betula nigra) is an outstanding specimen or ornamental tree growing best in moist soils. Its finely textured branching is only surpassed by the unusual and colorful toasty orange bark in the winter landscape.  As the tree ages, the bark becomes more and more coarse and handsome.  This tree can mature in some areas up to 40 feet or more in our growing zone.
